Dance to the Bone

Sherman Theatre 25th March - 2nd April

A woman dances at sunrise in the woods.

Our first full length project Dance to the Bone is based on the mysterious, and occasionally deadly, dancing fevers that spread across Medieval Europe. We have transported the phenomena to present day South Wales.

Joanne Bevan, a lonely and frustrated call centre worker, lives in a state of disconnection from her family, her community, her own body. One day she is visited by St Vitus, the Patron Saint of dancing, who invites her to dance away her problems. But what happens if she’s forgotten how to dance? What happens if she can’t stop?

There’s always been bombs coming, there’s always been war threatening. I want to take you dancing, down in the valley, far from the radio.
